Matte howlite is chalk white with faint grey veining, like marble left out in the weather. It is the plainest of the chakra stones and somehow the most restful to look at.
Howlite is traditionally associated with stillness and with rest, and it is a common choice for people who never quite take their jewelry off. Sandalwood warms it so the white does not read cold.
The Crown Chakra, Sahasrara, sits at the top of the head and is said to be where the personal opens into something larger. I am enlightened.
